White House adviser Kellyanne Conway called on Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) to resign Monday, in light of Robert Mueller‘s report clearing President Donald Trump of collusion.
‘Adam Schiff – talk about an oxymoron – this man heads the Intelligence Committee in the House!’
Kellyanne Conway said on ‘Fox & Friends.’
Conway joined Fox & Friends to celebrate the summary of Mueller’s findings released by the attorney general on Sunday. Conway swiped at Democrats and media figures by saying they “owe America an apology” for advancing the collusion narrative, and eventually honed in on the House Intelligence Committee chairman in particular.
“He ought to resign today,” Conway said of Schiff. “He’s been on every TV show for the last two years promising Americans that this president would be impeached or indicted.”
Conway savaged Trump’s press coverage, complaining that media figures didn’t lose their jobs for being “embarrassingly wrong” about the 2016 election. As she accused political media outlets of abandoning all journalistic standards, she eventually returned to Schiff and reiterated her interest in seeing him resign.
‘Many of you, quite certainly many others who aren’t represented here, have allowed this person, as ranking member and now chairman of the Intelligence Committee, to just let a lie fly for two years,’ she said.
“He has no right as somebody who has been peddling a lie day after day unchallenged and not under oath,” Conway said. “Somebody should’ve put him under oath and asked ‘Do you have evidence? Where is it?’”
