FOX News host Lou Dobbs mistakenly called Theresa May “Margaret Thatcher” as he discussed how the Prime Minister “screwed up” Brexit with her decision to postpone the “meaningful vote” on her proposed EU divorce deal.
The Fox News presenter mistook Theresa May for late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher during a Brexit debate on the US channel. Mr Dobbs immediately corrected himself before taking a dig at Mrs May and her handling of the Brexit negotiations with the European Union. The Fox News host had his panelists in stitches before refocusing the discussion on the impact tonight’s confidence vote on the Prime Minister will have on the future of the Brexit deal.
The Express Reports:
The Fox News presenter said: “Apparently, a no confidence vote to be taken against Margaret…I nearly said Margaret Thatcher.
“Theresa May, she is certainly no Margaret Thatcher, I think you would agree. She really screwed it up, Brexit I mean.”
Fox News guest Nile Gardiner agreed with Mr Dobbs’ assessment of the Prime Minister as he insisted Brexit will “going to go ahead” no matter the results of the vote of no confidence in Mrs May.
Mr Gardiner said: “Theresa May is no Margaret Thatcher. Her handling of the negotiations with the European Union has been absolutely disastrous, they have been weak. Nothing short of a surrender to the EU, to the mandarins in Brussels. Concession after concession after concession.
