President Trump renewed his attacks on House Judiciary chair Jerry Nadler on Friday in a tweet that suggested that Hillary Clinton’s missing emails were still getting under his skin.
“Will Jerry Nadler ever look into the fact that Crooked Hillary deleted and acid washed 33,000 emails AFTER getting a most powerful demand notice for them from Congress?” the president tweeted, two and a half years after the 2016 election.
The NYPost reports,
Trump is in a showdown with various committees in the Democratic-controlled House, which are seeking his tax returns and testimony from former White House counsel Don McGahn as well as special counsel Robert Mueller. Democrats also want Mueller’s report without redactions.
Team Trump has to date stonewalled most requests, prompting Nadler to caustically say that the commander in chief was acting like “a king.”
Clinton came under fire for using a home-cooked email server while serving as secretary of state, and thousands of her emails were subsequently deleted.
But the FBI determined that there was no evidence of criminality and brought no charges against the former first lady.
But Trump has repeatedly insisted that Clinton was guilty of nefarious conduct and has called for her emails to be found — even asking the Russians to help out during the presidential campaign, a comment he later said was a joke.
